Google's icons for Material Design are based upon its core design principles and metrics. They're simple, modern, friendly, and sometimes quirky. They're also crafted for readability and clarify — optimised for display on any platform and at any display resolution.

Up to now though, Google's created an icon library for Figma, but not one for Sketch.

While some third-party Sketch libraries exist for these Material Design icons, this library is the only one that's up-to-date. None of the others include all 2,000+ icons and/or all 5 visual styles listed on Google's icon directory.

Beyond being up-to-date, this library also uses proper, Android-specific naming conventions and groups them in a highly organised way based on Google's own categorisation. Plus, all of them are editable vector shapes — set up as symbols within the Sketch library file.

It'll also get updated as and when Google's Material Design team releases updates and/or makes changes.
